We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Engineering Supervisor to join our team at MJ Quinn.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the design, analysis, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Design and Analysis: Design and analyse high-voltage electrical systems, including transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks, to meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
- System Performance: Perform load flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies using specialised software tools to optimise system performance and reliability.
- Engineering Design: Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for high-voltage equipment and components.
- Equipment Selection: Evaluate and select high-voltage equipment, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear, based on technical requirements, performance criteria, and cost considerations.
- Testing and Compliance: Develop testing procedures and protocols for high-voltage equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Safety and Risk Management: Ensure that high-voltage designs and installations comply with all relevant safety codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA requirements.
- Education and Experience: Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in high-voltage engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage principles, including power system analysis, equipment selection, and testing methodologies.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in appropriate engineering software tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and codes, including ANSI, IEC, and NEC.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with effective communication and collaboration abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
