We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tourism and Hospitality Tutor to join our team at the University of Surrey International Study Centre. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver modules to the academic calendar, ensuring timely implementation and adherence to module deadlines and requirements.
  • Produce and review documentation for each course and module, including course outlines, module handbooks, schemes of work, and teaching materials.
  • Prepare and implement assessments for agreed modules, ensuring they are appropriate, fair, and secure.
  • Support the Head of Subject in providing effective assessment feedback to students.
  • Liaise with External Examiners for subject area, providing information as required and responding to recommendations.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level, contributing to the annual monitoring and review of courses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' attendance, engagement, and performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (Essential).
  • A Master's qualification (Desirable).
  • Teaching qualification (Desirable).
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Experience of teaching in Hospitality and Tourism in UK higher or further education (Essential).
  • Assessment marking experience at a minimum of level 4 (Essential).
  • Experience of working with international students (Desirable).
  • Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, etc.) (Essential).
  • Ability to work within a Virtual Learning Environment (Essential).
