Technical Artist

Rare, an Xbox Game Studio, is seeking a talented Technical Artist to join our team. As a key member of our technical art team, you will play a crucial role in pushing the boundaries of game development.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Art Teams to deliver high-quality game assets.
  • Design and implement tools to improve art pipelines and workflows.
  • Support cross-functional teams, including Art, Engineering, and Design, to resolve technical challenges.
  • Develop and maintain reliable tools and systems to meet project requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • Professional portfolio or technical blog showcasing your skills and experience.
  • Strong foundation in computer science or related field, or equivalent development experience.
  • Game development experience and knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, and HLSL.
  • Deep understanding of 3D creation packages, including Maya, Max, and ZBrush.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Excellent artistic ability and eye for detail.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or equivalent game engines.
  • Knowledge of 3D graphics and rendering techniques, including lighting and shading.
