Join Our Team as a Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at South Bristol Community Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals recovering from acute hospital admissions.

About the Role

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will assist registered nurses and healthcare professionals in the delivery of individualised care plans, focusing on the prevention of harm and promotion of patient independence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting patients with their care and nutritional needs
  • Recording physiological observations and escalating concerns to registered nurses
  • Participating in risk assessments and contributing to the prevention of harm
  • Assisting patients with mobilisation and promoting a culture of ambulatory care
  • Supporting patients to achieve rehabilitation goals and facilitate safe and timely discharges

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 2/3 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Adults) or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience of providing care in a formal healthcare or social setting
  • Committed to providing high-quality, safe, and effective patient care
  • Experience in supporting service users with a range of physical needs and different manual handling techniques
