We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at R&V Group Ltd. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, helping them to achieve their full potential and reach their goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to students with special needs, adapting to their unique needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, tutors, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care, mobility, and communication.
- Support students in developing their social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and motivation.
- Hold or be willing to achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Learning Support.
- Have a good understanding of Total Communication and be proficient in one or more specific strategies, such as Makaton.
- Hold English and maths qualifications at Grade 4/Grade C or better.
- Have experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a high needs environment.
- Be a competent user of commonly used software packages and be able to transfer skills to bespoke learning and/or communication support software.
- Have a clear understanding of child protection and Adult Safeguarding.
- Positive, can-do approach.
- Proven communication skills, offering simple and clear interactions with students who are LDD.
- Able to work effectively within a team of people, offering support and leadership in learning and assessment.
