Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Lancaster. This is a temporary position, with the potential for extension, covering a maternity leave period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students in need, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Document student progress and achievements, providing evidence of growth and development.
  • Participate in continuous professional development, contributing expertise to departmental and whole-school training.

Requirements:

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to instill confidence in students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
