About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our wards and departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning duties safely and effectively, in accordance with NHS National Standards
  • Perform housekeeping and/or Hostess Duties as required by Team Leaders
  • Assist nursing staff during managed meal times with portioning and plating food from food trolleys at ward level
  • Prepare and deliver ward stores and supplies to wards and departments
  • Report details of faults and failures of electrical equipment/fabric of the building to Team Leader or Ward Manager
  • Complete all working schedules and any other relevant paperwork accurately within given timelines where applicable
  • Responsible for safe/secure/hygienic storage of various stocks at ward/department level cleaning chemicals, consumables, dry/refrigerated food stuffs and equipment

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ level 1 in Support Services or equivalent level of working experience

Essential Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of customer care
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and infection control regulations
  • Knowledge of food service/catering

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work on our or part of a team

Essential Experience

  • Experience in cleaning and/or catering food service
