Job Title: Disability Manager

About the Role:

The Disability Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the quality of neurodiversity support and provision across the Education, Skills, and Work (ESW) department is at least good and moving towards outstanding. This will involve assessing the quality of current practice, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the collection and collation of neurodivergent data at a local level, analyzing and evaluating current practice to inform the prison education, skills, and work improvement plan.
  2. Track the progress of prisoners with neurodiversity in education, learning, and work, analyzing data and identifying any participation and achievement gaps.
  3. Collaborate with the Head of Education, Skills, and Work and the education provider to ensure that prisoners are supported and continue to receive support in the community.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 in Education and Training.
  • A Level 4 Certificate in Supporting the Learning of Learners with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) or Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Experience of working within the Special Educational Needs/Additional Learning Needs and Disabilities field.
  • Detailed knowledge of OFSTED/Estyn's EIF (Education Inspection Framework) and further education and skills criteria.
