Administrative Support Officer

Applications are invited for the position of Administrative Support Officer to provide administrative support in the General Surgery Department at Ninewells Hospital. This role will involve performing a range of clerical and secretarial tasks, including the reception of acute surgical emergencies into the unit.
The successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, a pleasant and helpful manner, and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Strong typing and audio typing skills are essential, and prior knowledge of medical terminology would be beneficial. Previous experience in an office environment is necessary, as are good communication skills.
The General Surgery Department operates from 0900-2100 Monday to Friday and 0900-1700 on Saturday and Sunday. The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional 7-day shifts to cover absence.
As an NHS Scotland employee, you will be required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
