Childcare Lead Practitioner Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Lead Practitioner to join our team in Castleford. In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality care and support to young people who live away from their familial homes. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional care, build trust, and provide emotional support to young people.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Safeguarding & Risk Management: Develop individual risk management plans and apply safeguarding principles to promote positive social interactions, healthy relationships, and trust-building.
  • Daily Support & Transportation: Assist young people with their daily routines, including transporting them to and from appointments, school, social events, family contacts, and other activities.
  • Maintain Home Environment: Ensure a safe and clean home environment, including managing domestic tasks like cleaning, cooking, and general housekeeping.
  • Key Worker Duties: Act as the key worker for one or more young people, taking responsibility for assessing needs, developing care plans, and reviewing progress.

Requirements:
  1. Level 4 Diploma in Children's and Young People's Workforce (or working towards).
  2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a childcare or youth setting at the RCP level.
  3. Full, clean UK driving license is essential, as the role requires transporting young people to appointments, education, social events, and family contacts.
  4. Enhanced DBS check.
