Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join an Outstanding Specialist School in Chelmsford.

This provision caters to students with moderate learning difficulties, who may require additional support with communication, social, or physical skills.

We welcome applicants with an open-minded and 'can-do' attitude, willing to learn and adapt in the role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities in a specialist school setting
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver individualized learning activities and education plans
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs, as required
  • Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and well-being
  • Work closely with other professionals, parents, and caregivers to support student development
Desired Qualifications:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with individuals with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of different learning styles and strategies
  • Ability to adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies
Working Conditions:
  • Normal working hours within the school term calendar
  • May involve some physical demands related to student care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
