Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Neurology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality paediatric care and working closely with senior colleagues to shape the future of paediatric services.
Main Responsibilities
The role involves an 8 PA contract with potential for further PA's in the future, subject to job planning. You will be responsible for the continuing care and treatment of patients, as well as personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan. You will also be expected to contribute to the operational performance, clinical quality, and resource management of the service.

Job Requirements
Ability to offer expert opinion and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients across the wide spectrum of paediatric disorders. Experience of and commitment to teaching undergraduates and postgraduates. An interest/experience in Paediatric Neurology. Experience of supervising F1, F2, ST trainees. Ability to and experience of teaching clinical skills.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- MBBS/MBChB or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to practice at time of application
- Full Membership of RCPCH
- Have CCT or within 6 months of attaining CCT at time of interview or entry onto GMC Specialist Register by time of interview or equivalent
- APLS provider
- Training in Child Protection/Safeguarding (Min Level 3)
Desirable
- APLS/instructor
- Interest/experience in Paediatric epilepsy and neurology
