We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Early Years Childcare Manager to join our team at Norfolk House School. The successful candidate will lead the Pre-Nursery (2-3 year-olds) and Nursery (3-4 year-olds) teams, providing year-round leadership and management during school term time and holidays.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of all statutory frameworks and guidance relating to Early Years care/education in England, as well as experience in leading teams within an early years and/or school setting. They will be responsible for overseeing and developing the curriculum, operating policies and procedures for the Nursery, and ensuring that the nursery meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the provision is of the highest quality, providing a safe, stimulating and caring child-centred environment.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the smooth running of the Nursery.
  • Prudently manage the nursery budget to achieve high standards of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents/carers and staff within the Nursery and pre-Nursery setting.

Requirements:

  • At least Grade C/Grade 4 at GCSE in Maths, English and Science.
  • NVQ Level 3 in a recognised childcare/early years education qualification.
  • Preferable: Level 4, 5 or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Designated Safeguarding Lead Qualification.
  • Varied experience across a range of early years/nursery settings.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining strong relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Experience with safeguarding within an educational setting.

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary ranging from £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 4 weeks holiday entitlement plus all public holidays, with 3 staff development days within a full academic year.
