We are seeking a skilled and experienced dentist to join our Community Special Care Dental Service in King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Dental Officer, you will provide high-quality oral health care to patients with special needs, working in collaboration with the oral health promotion team and advising educational, health, and social care staff on community special care dentistry.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, experience in treating patients under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, and registration on the specialist list for Special Care Dentistry or Paediatric Dentistry. A driving licence and daily access to a vehicle are also desirable.

This is a full-time (4 days) position based in our community dental sites across Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham, Merton, Sutton, and Croydon, and Kingston, Richmond, and Wandsworth.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Dental Officer, your main responsibilities will include providing clinical special care dentistry to individuals who meet the referral criteria for the Department of Community Special Care Dentistry, leading the clinic team, and performing at the expected competency level of a Band B dentist.

You will work closely with the oral health promotion team to provide local leadership to the clinic team and ensure that all patients receive high-quality oral health care.

In addition, you will be responsible for supervising the dental nurse and ensuring that they perform their duties in the dental surgery with regard to infection control and decontamination.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £85,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life insurance, and annual leave.
