Job Title: Definitive Map Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Definitive Map Officer to join our team at Bradford Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on Definitive Map related work within the Countryside and Rights of Way Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and experience of working with relevant legislation relating to maintaining and updating the legal record of public rights of way.
  • Knowledge of the De-regulation Act and its implications for this work area.
  • Determining route status through archive research and evaluation of user evidence for public rights of way.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the relevant parts of the CROW Act 2000 which relate to cut-off date for "lost ways" and its implications for Bradford's rights of way.
  • Experience of using GIS mapping processes is desirable.

Working Arrangements:

The post holder will be required to work from home and travel to other offices and venues, making occasional site visits, often unaccompanied.
