About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at MJ Quinn. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of mechanical services installation on our Bournemouth Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day project delivery, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance, and improvement.
  • Commercial management and reporting to line managers.
  • Drive a "Safety First" and "Right First Time" culture across the field operations.
  • Manage and lead M&E field supervisors responsible for designated project.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, quality failures, and service deterioration trends, and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Work closely with commercial to identify risks to delivering the budget, supplier, and/or overhead cost impacting the project.
  • Manage the operational relationship with all suppliers and ensure M.J Quinn standards are met.
  • Manage staff, oversee work schedules, and assign specific duties accordingly.
  • Deliver quality service to the client, ensuring performance standards and contractual KPIs and SLAs are met.
  • Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
  • Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to Contract Manager defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Assess designs received from clients, including any walkouts with client supervisors.
  • Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology, and programme.
  • Adhere to safety and performance standards.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the department by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Raise and follow up on non-conformance reports to ensure any actions identified are pursued and resolved.

Requirements

  • Strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
  • Previous experience of working on NEC 3-4 contracts.
  • Previous experience of working on healthcare project delivery from a mechanical perspective.
  • Recognised Building Services Qualification – ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering.
  • Strong experience of programme management.
  • Strong mechanical systems background to ensure full understanding of systems for installation on designated project.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • High standard of numeracy.
  • Education to a G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
  • Adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check required due to client buildings being visited.
  • Full UK Driving License with no more than 6 points.
