About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at MJ Quinn. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of mechanical services installation on our Bournemouth Contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day project delivery, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance, and improvement.
- Commercial management and reporting to line managers.
- Drive a "Safety First" and "Right First Time" culture across the field operations.
- Manage and lead M&E field supervisors responsible for designated project.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, quality failures, and service deterioration trends, and take corrective action where necessary.
- Work closely with commercial to identify risks to delivering the budget, supplier, and/or overhead cost impacting the project.
- Manage the operational relationship with all suppliers and ensure M.J Quinn standards are met.
- Manage staff, oversee work schedules, and assign specific duties accordingly.
- Deliver quality service to the client, ensuring performance standards and contractual KPIs and SLAs are met.
- Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
- Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to Contract Manager defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
- Assess designs received from clients, including any walkouts with client supervisors.
- Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology, and programme.
- Adhere to safety and performance standards.
- Work as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
- Promote a positive and professional image of the department by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Raise and follow up on non-conformance reports to ensure any actions identified are pursued and resolved.
Requirements
- Strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
- Previous experience of working on NEC 3-4 contracts.
- Previous experience of working on healthcare project delivery from a mechanical perspective.
- Recognised Building Services Qualification – ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering.
- Strong experience of programme management.
- Strong mechanical systems background to ensure full understanding of systems for installation on designated project.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- High standard of numeracy.
- Education to a G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
- Computer literate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
- Adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check required due to client buildings being visited.
- Full UK Driving License with no more than 6 points.
