Creative Learning Support Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a vibrant Primary school in Sheffield. As a key member of our support team, you will work closely with experienced Learning Support Assistants to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Your role will involve supporting children throughout the day, including lunchtime, to develop their social communication, co-operation, and play skills. You will work under the guidance of specialist agencies to provide interventions and support plans for children with SEND, and take responsibility for individuals or groups of children with identified areas of need.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of working with children from 3-10 in an educational or working with children with learning and behavioural difficulties. You will also need to have a good command of Maths and English to national curriculum standard for EYFS-KS2.

This is a full-time, term-time only position with the opportunity to go onto a permanent contract or work on a flexible supply contract. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEND in a primary school setting
  • Work under the guidance of specialist agencies to provide interventions and support plans
  • Take responsibility for individuals or groups of children with identified areas of need
  • Develop and implement support plans to meet the needs of children with SEND
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment

Requirements:
