Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £18 p/h + Shift Premium

This is a challenging role for a highly skilled maintenance engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical background. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking various planned, reactive, and proactive maintenance tasks to support the overall function of machinery/equipment, identifying faults and solutions alike.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and program knowledge, with experience in installation and commissioning of new equipment. Knowledge of CNC and PC controlled systems, as well as PLC controlled systems and their energized components, is desirable.

The role involves working as part of a team and supporting production and operations, with a focus on maintaining and supporting production electronic/electrical systems. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced production environment, with a willingness to engage with a changing work environment which will involve shift work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and support tasks on high-speed automated equipment
  • Maintain and support production electronic/electrical systems
  • Work as part of a team and support production and operations
  • Implement solutions to help improve machine reliability and quality issues
  • Worked in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Timed-served Electrical/Mechanical Engineer
  • Knowledge of CNC and PC controlled systems desirable
  • Knowledge of PLC controlled systems and their energized components desirable

Working Hours:

The role is available on days or on shifts. If working on days, the pattern consists of 8-hour shifts across Monday - Friday. If working on shifts, the rota features a combination of days and evenings, requiring only 10 shifts to be worked every 21 days.

Benefits:

The starting hourly rate is £18, supplemented with a 15% shift premium if working within the shift rota. Overtime is also paid at time and a half.
