About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team at Papworth Hall School, a specialist school catering for young people with complex communication needs, autism, and associated learning and emotional needs.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a capable learning environment where pupils thrive, have their needs met, and have access to positive interactions and high-quality teaching.

You will be responsible for planning, tracking, evaluating, assessing, and reporting the teaching and learning of pupils, as well as writing and updating individual outcomes.

Additionally, you will supervise, develop, and manage Teaching Assistants relevant to their responsibilities and liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the individual needs and levels of achievement of each pupil.
  • Organise personalised learning activities and experiences that are differentiated to meet the needs of each pupil.
  • Track, evaluate, assess, and report the teaching and learning of pupils.
  • Write and update individual outcomes for pupils.
  • Supervise, develop, and manage Teaching Assistants relevant to their responsibilities.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as appropriate.
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified and experienced SEN Teacher who is passionate about working with students with complex needs and autism.

You will have a strong understanding of the needs of students with autism and complex communication needs, as well as experience of planning and delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

You will be a great communicator, able to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, and have excellent written English skills.

Qualifications required include QTS and a strong understanding of the needs of students with autism and complex communication needs.
