Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Unilever. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and reactive support for site facilities, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Maintenance Support: Ensure the smooth operation of site facilities, equipment, and systems, including contractor control and compliance with planned statutory and maintenance activities.
  • Drive Performance Improvement: Identify and implement best practice techniques to improve maintenance performance, cost reduction, and quality.
  • Support Improvement Projects: Collaborate with the Engineering department, operations, quality, H&S, Project team, and external contractors to drive improvement projects from minor changes to CAPEX justification and commissioning.
  • Contractor Management: Deliver best practice contractor management and permit-to-work while ensuring contractors provide a quality-driven and value-for-money service.
  • Maintenance Spares and Activities: Identify, source, and ensure the availability of maintenance spares and contracted activities.
  • Engineering Shutdowns and Start-ups: Provide ownership and support for own area during engineering shutdowns and start-ups.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Set up communications with key stakeholders to ensure all works carried out fulfill Environmental, Health & Safety, and business needs.
  • Maintenance Database and IT System: Support the site in uploading the department maintenance database into the IT-based maintenance planning system (Build app).
  • Safety and Infrastructure: React to safety tags entered into Build app to ensure timely resolution to issues identified in areas across the site. Responsible for all civil-related infrastructure on the site, including building fabric, construction, roofs, floors, ceilings, drainage, doors, windows, coatings, gutters, cladding, internal rainwater gutters, plumbing, internal fitting & fixtures, roads, footpaths, fire compartmentation.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a building maintenance or facilitator role, managing contractors via permit-to-work, and managing multidiscipline projects.
  • Knowledge and Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of CDM regulations, asbestos management, working at height, excavation, demolition. IOSH Managing safely/NEBOSH, City and Guilds level 3 in a civil discipline, project management training, permit-to-work training, asbestos management, and experience with excavation/demolition.
