Aircraft Fitter Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Fitter to join our team at Shorterm Group. As an Aircraft Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly and testing of aerospace components, as well as completing any relevant administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test aerospace components
  • Complete relevant administration tasks
  • Work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Be self-motivated, flexible, and contribute to improvement activities
  • Read engineering drawings and possess previous fitting experience in an aerospace or automotive environment

Candidate Requirements:

  • Completed a full engineering apprenticeship
  • Ability to follow and understand technical drawings, specs, procedures, and test instructions
  • Use of hand tools in previous job roles
  • Knowledge of production flow lines and takt times
  • Work to 5's and other improvement principles
  • Completion of relevant documentation
  • FOD Compliance
  • Assembly and completion of associated production acceptance testing

Working Conditions:

You will be expected to work shifts, including days, lates, and nights, with a 2-week rotation. You will also be required to work overtime as part of this role.

Shift Premium:

  • Day: 20% premium for the first 45 minutes
  • Late: 25% premium
  • Weekend: 45% premium

Please note that you will be required to work a 37-hour week.
