About the Role

The Medical Equipment Management department at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our technical team as an Apprentice Assistant Medical Devices Technologist.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in medical equipment management and maintenance.

As an Apprentice Assistant Medical Devices Technologist, you will be responsible for providing safe and effective maintenance support services for a wide range of medical devices across various sites.

You will work closely with our experienced team to perform routine and non-routine tasks, including diagnostic tests, equipment support activities, and breakdown assessment and repair.

Additionally, you will be required to update electronic systems to document all activities and provide user guides and information to clinical staff.

This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and develop their skills in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support services for medical devices
  • Perform routine and non-routine tasks, including diagnostic tests and equipment support activities
  • Update electronic systems to document all activities
  • Provide user guides and information to clinical staff
  • Support senior staff with commissioning and testing of new equipment
