Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Conference & Banqueting Operations Team Member to join our team at Mercure Earls Court. As a key member of our Meeting & Events Operations Department, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, presentation, and service of banquet food and beverage procedures to ensure the highest quality at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Conference & Banqueting Operation Manager and Supervisor in the preparation and presentation of banquet food and beverage procedures.
  • Set up conferences and events according to function sheets, ensuring attention to detail and a high level of customer service.
  • Assist in maintaining a record system, including files on previous functions, banquet reservation books, customer contact files, and sales solicitation programs.
  • Follow up on business referrals and potential sales leads, working closely with the Conference & Banqueting Operation Manager.
  • Ensure that banquet service personnel have made all necessary arrangements and preparations with kitchen, housekeeping, engineering, and other departments.
  • Familiarize yourself with all phases of equipment and materials related to functions and conferences.
  • Meet with prospective clients to showcase hotel facilities and promote sales.
  • Check all accounts and refer discrepancies to the Conference & Banqueting Operation Supervisor.
  • Stay up-to-date on government laws and regulations related to banquets, exhibitions, and outside catering to assist clients and ensure compliance.
