Overview

The Ministry of Defence is a forward-thinking organisation with a diverse workforce, employing over 50,000 Civil Servants. The Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,500 MOD Civil Servants located at various locations across the country.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team in the Army's Basing and Infrastructure Directorate. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of strategic programmes, ensuring that infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £35,290 per annum, plus benefits.

Job Description

This is a key position in our Programme Management Office (PMO), working closely with programme and project teams to coordinate activities, manage risks, and ensure effective stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating project documentation, demonstrating understanding of the project life-cycle, and influencing business decisions through written communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate project documentation, including artefacts management, assurance review management, and benefits management.
  • Manage programme resources, including staff, budget, and risk.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including programme and project teams, senior managers, and external partners.
  • Provide advice and guidance on programme management best practices, including change management, knowledge management, and learning from experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, project management, or business administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the defence or infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programme management, including experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Location

This role will be based in London, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
