We are seeking a skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Maidstone.
About the RoleYour primary responsibility will be to maintain the safety and reliability of our company fleet of vehicles and trailers by performing scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with established procedures. This includes ensuring that all vehicles are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Completing service and inspection records
- Preparing vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing
- Performing ad-hoc vehicle repairs and investigating defects
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Fully qualified and licensed as a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) mechanic
- City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs
- Knowledge of automotive equipment and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components
- Valid driving license
We offer a competitive salary of £20.77 per hour, plus premium pay for hours worked between 7pm-10pm (£2.23 per hour) and 10pm-6am (£2.70 per hour). Our benefits package also includes:
