Role Overview

This role is a key member of the EMEA Corporate Risk team based in London, reporting directly to the EMEA Head of Financial Risk. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in financial risk management and prudential regulation.

The individual will work closely with the EMEA Prudential Risk Manager on the EMEA prudential risk programme of work, participating in corporate, regional, and local committees to support good governance and effective challenge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that relevant legal entity prudential assessments are sufficiently robust and up-to-date with regulatory developments and policy changes issued by European and UK authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Input into ICAAPs, ICARAs, and Capital Plans: Supporting the EMEA Prudential Risk Manager with risk input into EMEA Legal Entity ICAAPs, ICARAs, and Capital plans.
  • ICAAP & ICARA Risk Assessments: Production of ICAAP & ICARA risk assessments and ensuring underlying methodologies are fit for purpose.
  • Pillar 2 Capital Assessments: Execution of Pillar 2 capital assessments (credit risk and operational risk).
  • Scenario Planning: Execution of Scenario planning (Event Driven Scenario and Reverse Stress Testing).
  • Results Presentation: Presentation of ICAAP and ICARA results alongside the EMEA Finance team, to relevant Legal Entity Risk Committees and Boards.
  • Operational Risk Capital Modelling: Supporting the Prudential Risk Manager with the quarterly capital modelling of operational risk scenarios for key EMEA entities and ascertain knowledge of the regional operational risk capital model.
  • Governance Committee Attendance: Attending relevant governance committees as a prudential risk consultant for the region.
  • Risk Input into Recovery Plans: Providing risk input into EMEA Legal Entity Recovery plans.
  • Regulatory Change Monitoring: Monitoring, identifying the impact and responding to prudential regulatory change for EMEA Legal Entities.
Requirements
  • Financial Services Experience: Direct experience in the Financial Services industry (3+ years) and a broad understanding of financial markets.
  • Financial and Prudential Risk Management: Knowledge of financial and prudential risk management.
  • Prudential Regimes and Regulatory Requirements: Experience in the application of various prudential regimes and regulatory requirements.
  • ICAAP/ICARA Interpretation and Implementation: Interpretation and implementation of prudential rules with regards to ICAAP / ICARA.
  • Stress Testing: Experience with stress testing across capital risk management.
  • Recovery and Resolution Planning: Familiarity with Recovery and Resolution Planning.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Proven strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
