About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Mentor to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students identified with additional educational needs, working closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure continuity and progress.
  • Collaborate with the SENDCo and other teams to develop and implement individualized support plans, promoting positive relationships and high expectations for student progress and behavior.
  • Offer general support to students in lessons and the Student Support Room, facilitating inclusion and interaction among peers.
  • Act as an Emotionally Available Adult for students, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive.
Requirements
  • Passion for working with children with special educational needs, with experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Understanding of how children learn and behave, with a commitment to supporting their development and well-being.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safeguarding protocols.
  • Proactive approach to attending relevant training and meetings, staying up-to-date with developments in special educational needs.
