Senior Engineering Project Manager

Our client, a leading company in the niche industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to join their team in Newcastle. With 65 years of experience across various sectors, including Energy, Aerospace, Marine, Nuclear, Petro-chemical, and Utilities, they offer a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to make a significant impact.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Projects, bringing technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong leadership to ensure successful project execution. Responsibilities will include overseeing the full project lifecycle in a custom fabrication and manufacturing environment, ensuring timely delivery within budget and in line with company objectives.

This is a hybrid role, with the opportunity to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Travel to customer sites across the region will be required, and a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (with a generous car allowance) are essential.

Key Requirements:
  1. A project management qualification with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in a closely related industry, demonstrating strong technical competence and a keen understanding of commercial aspects.
  2. Extensive experience in client-facing roles, including gathering initial project briefs, coordinating with relevant parties, and confidently presenting and negotiating with customers and internal stakeholders.
  3. Willingness to travel overseas on occasion.
  4. Fabrication/manufacturing project management experience.
  5. Experience of Large Oil and Gas/Power projects.
  6. Understanding of Primavera P3e, Microsoft Project, or Asta project planning software.
