Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietetic Assistant to join our team at Rhodes Wood Hospital in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

About the Role

In this rewarding position, you will provide essential support to our Registered Dietitian, working closely with children and young people aged 8-18 years who require specialist eating disorder care.

You will be responsible for collecting and monitoring baseline nutritional data, reviewing young people's nutritional needs, and assisting with therapeutic interventions. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality care and make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Dietitian in daily duties, including providing assistance with therapeutic interventions and reviewing young people's nutritional needs.
  • Collect and monitor baseline nutritional data, ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Participate in the preparation and updating of information and resources for individuals and groups.
  • Promote healthy eating to young people within a nutrition education framework.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working within a CAMHS and/or eating disorder service.
  • The NCFE CACHE level 2 Certificate in Healthcare Support Services or The NCFE CACHE level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support.
  • Associate member of the British Dietetic Association.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of nutrition and dietetics as it relates to eating disorders.
  • An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
  • Theoretical knowledge of Eating Disorders.
