Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Weigh Maintenance Specialist to join our team at GFG. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our weighing equipment across our Liberty Speciality Steel sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine calibration and maintenance of weighing systems, including weighbridges, mechanical scales, electronic weigh heads, electronic scales, weigh platforms, and crane weighs.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing to ensure compliance with relevant company and statutory standards.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and quality assurance procedures to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address equipment issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent future problems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of weighing equipment services.

Requirements

  • Apprentice-trained or equivalent experience in electrical or mechatronics, with a strong understanding of weighing equipment and maintenance principles.
  • Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and KPIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to work and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
  • A current UK driving license is essential for this role.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, working 7am to 3pm, with every other weekend off, and time off in the week to balance work and personal life.
