Mental Health Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school near Reigate. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health and be able to provide support to children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The students we support range in age from 10 to 16 and face a range of challenges including trauma, anxiety, OCD, and behavioural issues. As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with the students and providing a consistent and supportive presence in the classroom.

We are looking for someone who is open-minded, resilient, and knowledgeable about mental health. Experience working with SEN children and/or adults is desirable, but not essential. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Counselling would be well-suited to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check (where applicable)
