Procurement Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Procurement & Supply Chain team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Procurement Manager.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the Trust's Procurement Transformation Plan and contributing to the National Commercial Strategy. This role will focus on a variety of procurement-related activities, including clinical and capital requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Procurement professionals to establish and enhance robust relationships within the aligned business area and wider Trust.
- Responsible for the tendering of bespoke contracts for goods, services, and works, including research, preparation, issue, scheduling, evaluation, reporting on tenders and awards, and the management of contracts.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience at a senior level in the Procurement Department of a large complex organisation, preferably within the NHS.
- A detailed understanding of computerised procurement systems, including eProcurement.
- Expert knowledge of Public Procurement legislation.
- Ability to provide professional advice and guidance to Clinical Directors, Directorate Managers, and other senior managerial and clinical staff across the organisation.
Person Specification:
- An appropriate Professional Purchasing qualification, i.e., NVQ Level 4 (Purchasing), CIPS (Degree Level), or equivalent experience.
- Managerial qualification.
- European Computer Driving Licence qualification.
