Mobile Service Technician

Exciting new opportunities have arisen at Marshall Fleet Solutions for skilled Service Technicians to join our team.

We are seeking several Service Technicians to work remotely across various locations, covering Greater Manchester, Southampton, Hemel Hempstead/Bedford, South Coast, South Wales, South East/London, and Leeds. This role would suit semi-skilled technicians and hobbyists with mechanical/electrical knowledge.

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Servicing vehicle-powered and diesel engine road transport refrigeration units
  • Calibrating and completing F-Gas certification (once qualified)
  • Optimizing and maintaining engineer van stock to ensure efficient service delivery to MFS customers
  • Ensuring relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van daily
  • Maintaining product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9001 standards
  • Undertaking company training and self-development through the Certi-Tech certification process
  • Liaising with the central coordination team regarding job start and completion times, downtime, and overtime authorization
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and online requirements to maintain a high standard of customer interface
  • Performing other duties and projects that correspond to the general character of the position

Requirements:

  • GCSE level or equivalent with at least 3 grade C's or above
  • Able to work on own initiative in a safe and professional manner, maintaining customers' units and company property to the highest standards
  • Mechanical knowledge or experience would be preferable
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office), PDA use
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Numerate, literate, methodical, systematic
  • Attention to detail and target-driven
  • Customer Service Skills & Relationship building skills
  • Punctuality and efficiency

Additional requirements:

  • Clean UK driving license
  • Extensive travel required, including overnight stays and working on customer sites
  • Physically fit to perform required tasks
  • Weekend and some alternative shift patterns may be required in line with business demands
