About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as an Electrical Architect. As an Electrical Architect, you will play a key role in specifying electrical requirements, defining interfaces, designing power architectures, and ensuring signal safety for our next-generation defence systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Electrical Requirements Specification: Specify electrical requirements for subsystems and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Interface Definition: Define interfaces and characteristics between electrical components, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  3. Power Architecture Design: Design power architectures, including load budgets and profiles, to ensure efficient and reliable power distribution.
  4. Data Communication and Processing: Ensure data communication and processing architecture meets system needs, ensuring high-speed data transfer and processing.
  5. EMC and Signal Safety: Define requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening, and manage signal safety, including routing of safety-related signals.
  6. Collaboration and Testing: Collaborate with equipment suppliers and participate in testing activities to ensure compliance with system requirements.
Requirements
  1. Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in electrical/electronic engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and power architectures.
  3. Security Clearance: Willingness to obtain DV clearance.
  4. Travel: UK/international travel may be required for supplier and customer visits.
Desirable Skills
  1. Missile System Architecture: Experience with missile system architecture, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and power architectures.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with equipment suppliers and other stakeholders.
  3. Problem-Solving and Communication: Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
