About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Pharmacy Department in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the safe and secure handling of patients' own medication on allocated wards.
  • Assist ward Pharmacy staff with the supply of missed doses, within agreed time frames.
  • Identify any patients that meet a pre-defined critical medicines list and refer them to the appropriate pharmacist or pharmacy technician for early review.
  • Establish whether patients have brought their medicines into hospital and refer patients who require medicines to the pharmacy team to minimise delays or omissions of missed doses.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy technical services.
  • Recent proven experience of working in a pharmacy department as a pharmacy assistant.
  • Standard keyboard skills, including Microsoft Office and Word.
  • A working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems (EMIS).
