We are excited to expand our team with a Lead IoT Solutions Engineer who specializes in security and has a strong background in managing IoT Devices on AWS. This position, part of our vibrant engineering team, involves collaborative, hands-on efforts to improve the security, quality, and scalability of our product development, deployment, and monitoring processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee IoT Deployments across various regions
  • Architect, develop, and maintain deployment frameworks such as CI/CD Pipelines, AWS IoT Core, and AWS Greengrass
  • Influence technical strategies to shape and manage the product engineering roadmap
  • Design and execute solutions for backup and recovery, high availability, key management, and other strategic initiatives
  • Create software components for the Octopus Energy platform
  • Establish and uphold monitoring, metrics, and reporting systems for enhanced visibility and actionable alerts
  • Collaborate with external security experts to evaluate the security of our AWS infrastructure
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework

Required Qualifications

  • Several years of experience with TypeScript
  • Extensive experience with AWS services
  • Strong background in IoT Devices and their deployments
  • Expertise in implementing and automating security best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of AWS services to deliver robust architectures and recommendations
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD, version control, and full-stack repeatability
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and CDK

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with AWS IoT (Greengrass, IoT Core)
  • Knowledge of edge computing and Linux environments
