Preservation Facilitator Job Description

The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking a skilled Preservation Facilitator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, collaborating and co-creating a package of work that will lay the foundations for our future preservation journey.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of a Digital Preservation Policy;
  • Collaborating with our Digital Preservation Working Group;
  • Identifying and assisting in training key records creators;
  • Co-creating a digital repository framework;
  • Creating a list of 'at risk' formats and suggestions for preservation;
  • Sharing project learning at relevant sector events.

The ideal candidate will have a professional archival, digital preservation or relevant qualification at degree level, or equivalent experience, and demonstrable experience of setting up digital preservation practices in an archive, museum or relevant heritage environment.

Benefits include a competitive salary of £15,000 per annum, depending on experience, and the opportunity to work with us at an exciting time in our digital preservation journey.
