Job Title: Automotive Materials Planner

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Materials Planner to join our team at D R Newitt Recruitment. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and packaging to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery of materials and packaging to meet production schedules.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and hauliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and service levels.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control processes to minimize waste and redundant stock write-offs.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure accurate forecasting and planning of materials and packaging requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and optimize inventory management processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • High levels of numeracy and literacy, with attention to detail and accuracy.
