Mechanical Project Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our prestigious Global manufacturing client within their Distilling projects team.

This role offers an exciting chance to play a crucial role in their Production Operations, managing projects from inception to completion with a particular emphasis on designing and executing capital investment projects.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll report directly to the Head of Strategic Projects and collaborate closely within a diverse team.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Project Scoping: Assist in defining and implementing Mechanical and multi-disciplinary Engineering projects
  • Project Management: Manage multi-disciplined teams to execute CAPEX projects across all functions, assuming responsibility for all aspects from securing funds through to commissioning and handover
  • Project Installation: Specify, design, purchase, and supervise the installation of complete projects including coordination between the different engineering disciplines
  • Technical Support: Support existing mechanical or chemical systems and ensure requests for change or assistance are satisfied in accordance with existing standards to maximize production and ensure all modifications are recorded and approved

Educated to degree level in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with significant relevant industrial experience.

Practical experience and knowledge of legislation governing engineering installations in hazardous areas and knowledge of HS&E legislation in the workplace.

Commercially and financially aware with knowledge of corporate financial systems and control techniques including contract writing and review.
