About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Delivery team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating effective and economic plant design and procurement strategies, ensuring timely information issuance for construction, commissioning, and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance.
  2. Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date.
  3. Ensure contract reviews and monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time.
  4. Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
  5. Assist with the Project Management strategy.
  6. Establish and maintain the contract filing systems.
  7. Assist in the production of the contract programme, monitor programme, and produce progress reports.
  8. Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals.
  9. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
  10. Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues.
  11. Monitor subcontract performance.
  12. Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation.
  13. Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
  14. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
  15. Undertake such other duties, training, and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
  16. In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
  17. Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.
  18. Work closely with design departments to ensure timely progressing of quality solutions.
  19. Evaluate innovative solutions and processes.
  20. Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis.
  21. Ensure designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain.
  22. Complete the capitalisation process.
About the Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with a basic engineering background, working knowledge of various conditions of contract, especially NEC, and engineering/technical qualification (HNC minimum) required. Experience of supply chain expedition, knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, CDM & Health & Safety knowledge are also essential. Relevant professional qualification and a collaborative approach are desirable.
