The Senior Mechanical Estimator will play a pivotal role within the estimating team, working closely with project managers, engineers, and the commercial team to deliver accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial building services projects. This role requires a strong understanding of the commercial office fit-out sector, particularly in Cat A and Cat B projects. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical services, including HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation systems, with an emphasis on commercial fit-out projects.
  • Project Analysis: Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Cost Management: Develop cost estimates and budgets, considering material, labor, and overheads, and monitor project costs to ensure alignment with financial targets.
  • Client and Vendor Communication: Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and maintain strong relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure cohesive and cost-effective project planning and delivery.
Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, ideally within commercial building services and office fit-out projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, and ventilation for commercial environments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail in costing, budgeting, and project specifications.
  • Software Proficiency: Competent with industry-standard estimating tools and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Project Scope Knowledge: Experience with Cat A and Cat B fit-out standards is highly desirable.
