About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Process and Controls Specialist to join our team at Boots. As a key member of our Financial Process and Controls Team, you will play a critical role in driving robust processes and controls around financial reporting, finance systems, and process changes.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Process and Controls, you will provide a breadth of experience, covering a number of businesses within the wider WBA Group, including Boots UK, Boots ROI, Boots Opticians, and No7.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Financial Controller and Head of Finance with the coordination, execution, and review of end-to-end process and controls across the Group, escalating potential issues timely and effectively.
  • Support with the prioritization of tasks and resources to ensure key risks are addressed timely.
  • As Line Manager of a Senior Analyst, provide support, development, and training, along with the review of and feedback around deliverables.
  • Partner with colleagues across the business across all levels both within and outside of Finance across the wider business.
  • Work with our Internal and external auditors to support with the delivery of the statutory UK and US audits and annual SOX programme.
  • Support the business and wider Finance team with the timely remediation of any controls issues and performance of re-testing.
  • Coordinate and maintain all Finance process documentation, providing documentation support to ensure processes and controls are adequately documented, new processes captured, and documentation remains up-to-date.
  • Involvement in ad-hoc assurance projects and other internal audit or assurance activities as required.
Requirements
  • Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, IIA/CIA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain and illustrate concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience with external and internal audit processes, along with SOX requirements.
