About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) in Bath. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students, aged 8-18, who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex needs, including those with Autism and ADHD
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their social, emotional, and mental wellbeing
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials to meet the needs of students with SEMH
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting respect and empathy among students and staff
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Counselling, Education)
  • Experience working with children with SEMH or similar needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
