Job Title: Financial Management Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Financial Management Assistant to join our team at the Transformation Unit. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our finance managers in the provision of a high-quality financial management service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of Management Accounting systems and procedures to ensure the optimum use of resources available.
  • Support the Senior Finance staff in the team in the production of Directorate Financial Plans which are based on accurate budget and expenditure statements.
  • Work under own initiative with minimal supervision in carrying out main duties and responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Equivalent qualifications include AAT, CCAB Part Qualified and overseas equivalents of GCSEs and A Levels.
  • 3 or more A Levels at grade C or above (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • A levels in Accountancy, Business Studies, Mathematics at grade C or above (or similar)
  • AAT qualified or CCAB/CIMA Part qualified or equivalent
Skills:
  • High degree of numeracy
  • Concentration skills to undertake complex and involved analysis
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional credibility with Service Managers and other Directorate colleagues
  • Good written and verbal reasoning communication skills
  • Confidentiality
  • Ability to meet deadlines through effective organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Meticulous.
  • Flexible and adaptable - able to manage competing and changing workloads.
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
