We are looking for an expert in the field of conservation and preservation of museum collections. As a Museum Collections Conservator, you will be responsible for ensuring the long-term preservation and protection of our valuable artifacts and artworks.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Preventive Conservation: Developing and implementing strategies to prevent damage and deterioration of museum collections.
  • Object Treatment: Conducting research and analysis to determine the best course of treatment for damaged or deteriorated objects.
  • Collection Management: Assisting with the cataloging, documentation, and storage of museum collections.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Conservation or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conservation and preservation of museum collections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The City of Birmingham offers a competitive salary range of $52,686 - $81,744, depending on qualifications and experience. Our benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a pension retirement plan and paid time off.
