Job Title: Tool Setter

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Tool Setter to join our team in a pivotal role that ensures the seamless operation of production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting tools in presses and initiating their start-up, aligning with stringent production requirements.
  • Safe operation of Injection Moulding Presses, including their start-up and shutdown.
  • Preparation of tools and equipment for tool changes.
  • Proficient use of cranes for slinging and lifting tools.
  • Presentation of the first-off part to the Quality Department, ensuring adherence to Quality and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Setting up robot heads and loading programmes.
  • First point of contact for reporting faults to the tool-room or maintenance teams, in accordance with company protocols.
  • Meticulous completion of job packs before and during tool changes.
  • Accurate recording of deviations.
  • Proactive troubleshooting.
  • Contribution to process improvements under the guidance of the Process Engineer or Lead Setter.
  • Safety checks, housekeeping around machine areas, and specified routine maintenance checks.
  • Engagement in SMED activities, working towards and reporting on KPI targets/results related to Tool Change times and OEE data.
  • Performing colour changes and undertaking additional projects or tasks as assigned by the management team.

Requirements:

  • Robust background in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Injection Moulding Presses and relevant safety training is highly desirable.
