X-Ray Technologist

About the Role

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Radiographer to join our team in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to the community. As a Diagnostic Radiographer, you will be responsible for working autonomously to image patients attending the radiology department, utilizing your expertise in plain film x-ray techniques and the use of CR, RIS, and PACS systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Work without supervision to maintain a high standard of imaging.
• Maintain a high standard of personal behavior, involvement, dress, and responsibility.
• Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Ensure patient care, dignity, and comfort at all times.
• Alert the referrer or arrange provision for an urgent radiological report where the image suggests an untoward or unexpected diagnosis.
• Familiarize yourself with the principles of clinical governance and strive to ensure and maintain high-quality patient care.
• Ensure correct use of equipment and report all clinical incidents and faults to the team lead, organizing appropriate action to repair faults as soon as possible.

Requirements

• DCR or BSc(Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography.
• HCPC registration.
• 3 years post-graduation experience.
• Previous experience of working single-handed.
• Previous experience of QA testing.
• Skilled in plain film x-ray techniques and the use of CR, RIS, and PACS systems.
• Knowledge of IRMER 17 regulations.
• Ability to prioritize and organize without supervision.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
