Teaching Opportunity in SEND and SEMH

We are seeking a qualified teacher with experience in teaching learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our team at HSDC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and enhance the provision in our Vocational and Foundation Learning (VFL) and Academic Learning Support (ALS) departments
  • Teach and tutor learners with SEND and SEMH
  • Contribute to departmental duties such as enrolment, open evenings, parents' evenings, and school liaison activities
Requirements
  • Proven track record of teaching learners with SEND and SEMH
  • Experience in delivering functional skills English or maths is beneficial
  • Good knowledge of quality procedures, such as internal and external verification
Support and Development

We offer a range of support and development opportunities, including:

  • Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification, such as Certificate in Education or PGCE
  • Introduction to teaching course for new staff, fully funded by HSDC
  • Financial contribution and reduction in teaching time to support staff in becoming fully qualified teachers
