Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at VanRath. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of new build residential and commercial projects.

About the Role:
  • Negotiate and appoint sub-contractors to schemes
  • Manage sub-contractor packages from appointment to final account
  • Take the lead on all commercial matters with clients
  • Submit valuations and variations on schemes
  • Provide monthly cost reports in line with project budgets
  • Build close working relationships with Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects
  • Carry out measurement checks
  • Aid with bids for new contracts and support buying activities
  • Identify cost issues

Requirements:
  • Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise and work to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively
  • High level of Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced office environment
  • Sound estimating skills with negotiation experience of confirming, agreeing, and pricing variations
  • Good knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT/NEC/PWC contracts
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Full valid driving licence
