We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs school in Gloucestershire. The successful candidate will work with children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Job Description:

  • To provide support to children with SEN needs in both individual and group settings.
  • To create and deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities that cater to the specific needs of each child.
  • To collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop individual education plans (IEPs) for each child.
  • To encourage positive behaviour and provide guidance and support to children to help them manage their emotions.
  • To build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
  • To monitor and report on the progress of children, and adjust teaching methods as necessary.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with children with SEN needs is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education, are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Patient, empathetic, and positive attitude towards working with children is essential.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding procedures is necessary.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is essential.
